Increase in online hotel bookings in Iceland

Online bookings for services in Iceland have increased enormously compared to last year.
Hólmfríður Jónsdóttir, sales manager at booking.com in Iceland says that the increase between years is a "good two figure number." Accommodation bookings through the website went from 966 im May last year to 1.212 this year. A year ago, four employees were based in Copenhagen for the Icelandic sector but the company now has seven members of staff at a new branch in Iceland.
Marketing manager of Expedia, Rúna Rut Ragnarsdóttir says that bookings through their site have increased by 60 % between years. "This year is looking good. There's a great increase in booking accommodation ahead."
