Tourists to Reykjavik at Christmas may find that a lot of restaurants are closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Thankfully, Reykjavik Loves has compiled a comprehensive list of restaurant opening hours on those days when Icelanders usually dine with their families.
Your safest bets are the city's hotels, whose restaurants stay open during all of the holidays. These include the trendy Marina Hotel and Kex Hostel and the Sky restaurant at Hótel Arnarhvoll which offers stunning views of the ocean.
Also open are some of the city's cafés, including French style Café Paris at the heart of town and the quaint and cosy Babalú on Skólavörðustígur.
If all fails, you can still get a Kebab or a burger downtown at Ali Baba or Tommi's Burger Joint.
