The incredible ocean-view "Kjarval" home for sale

A mansion built for Iceland's most famous artist, Kjarval, is now up for sale. It's located in Seltjarnarnes, West Reykjavik and boasts of an incredible ocean view.

The house, which measures 442.7 square metres was designed and built as a home and studio for painter Jóhannes Kjarval and was donated to him from the Icelandic government. Kjarval, who was almost eighty years old at the time, chose however not to live in the house as he was used to living in the heart of Reykjavik and had firm habits.

What was originally intended as Kjarval's spacious, luminous studio is now the living room of this stunning building with large windows framing the North Atlantic ocean. There's a garden that leads to the rocky beach, and to the south of the building is a stone pier.
