All performances at Þjóðleikhúsið, Iceland's National Theatre will be cancelled if the SFR Union of Public Servants goes on strike on Thursday.

"The strike would affect both staff at our box office and also staff working on and off the stage," said theatre director Ari Matthíasson to mbl.is this morning. "We could possibly rehearse but not perform while the strike is on."

If the strike goes forward, three performances will be affected: The Heart of Robin Hood and Pinter's The Homecoming and Icelandic play Móðurharðindin, all scheduled for this upcoming weekend.

Meetings between SFR and the state negotiator are scheduled for tomorrrow.
