Hot Springs and Lava Cave Hike
Travellers are picked up and driven from Reykjavik to visit the volcano of Hengill, to the east of the capital.
We venture into the many lava caves of the Bláfjöll mountain range and discover the hidden geological beauties of the Icelandic underground. This is followed by a visit to the magnificent Hengill geothermal area of hot springs and bubbling mud pools.
A hike takes travellers through the smoky Reykjadalur valley, the reward being the chance to take a dip in a natural warm stream.
Duration: 7 hours (4 hours hiking)
