Traditional Icelandic food in the company of globally inspired delicacies
Book café with cultural events and exhibitions
Lunch (soups and salads) all weekdays and brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am. Every day we offer the cakes of the day, as well as our homemade bread and popular pancakes, coffee, a good selection of teas and infusions, as well as homemade fresh juice.
Groups: we welcome groups (up to 20 persons) but ask that you order ahead. We can also provide dinner for groups if ordered two days ahead.
On beautiful days you can sit out in the sun with our picnic basket and enjoy the beautiful nature.
We like the idea of „slow-food“ and offer local products and homemade goods.
Skógar used to be the centre of the local community, a boarding school, telephone operator and meeting hall. The Café is situated in the old boarding school, which was closed in 1972. You can still feel the atmosphere of the traditional local school where children from 7 to 15 years of age lived, learned and played for most of the winter.
At Uglan café, we want to give you a local cultural and gastronomical experience with a global inspiration.
