Reports suggest that this summer has seen an increase in the availability of cocaine, amphetamines and other hard drugs in Iceland.
Large quantities of these drugs were seized during the Þjóðhátíð festival in the Westman Islands (South Iceland) last weekend. Police were astounded at the quantities unearthed by their searches – quantities far exceeding previous years.
This year, proportionately more cocaine was found then cannabis at the Þjóðhátíð festival.
