Icelandic men leaders in HeForShe

Iceland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, was presented on Wednesday with the HeForShe award by UN Women. Iceland has been the most successful country in the world at engaging men and boys in the fight for gender equality.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, almost one in twelve Icelandic men in the 15-64 age group have signed up to the HeForShe intiative. Khetsiwe Dlamini at UN Women pointed to Iceland as an example other countries in the world would do well to follow.
Dlamini expressed particular appreciation for with the various initiatives undertaken by UN Women Iceland and encouraged all Icelandic men to support their national HeForShe team.
