Awful weather forecast ahead

According to the Iceland Met Office winds will turn to a westerly direction in most part of Iceland accompanied by heavy rain in the south and west. 

Along the south coast, winds of almost 20 m/s can be expected. The next area of low depression will be arriving from Newfoundland tonight and will hit the south east coast. It is however not accompanied by bad weather but cold air, which means that snow or sleet showers will occurr tonight and tomorrow. 

Snow showers are also expected on roads such as Hellisheiði, Mosfellsheiði and Holtavörðuheiði which means drivers should be careful and follow updates on road conditions.
