Storm: Winds over 40 m/s

An area of low pressure South West of Iceland is causing a storm throughout most parts of the country.  The Iceland Met Office issued a storm warning yesterday. 

The worst areas of wind include Reykjanesbraut (the road between Reykjavik and Keflavik), the area underneath the Hafnarfjall mountain to the west and the north part of Snæfellsnes. 

The weather will turn for the even worse in the capital area at around midnight tonight and the Iceland Met Office advises people to attach all loose objects outside as winds will reach up to 28 m/s. 

Winds in some parts, including Snæfellsnes could reach around 40 m/s. 

All this wind wil be accompanied by rain.
