Iceland blast their way into Euro 2017!

Iceland’s women have guaranteed their place in next year’s Euro 2017 football finals with an emphatic 4:0 victory over Slovenia in Reykjavik this evening.

Icelands goalscorers tonight were Hallbera Guðný Gísladóttir, Dagný Brynjarsdóttir (x2) and Gunnhildur Yrsa Jónsdóttir.

Over 6,000 spectators at the Laugardalsvöllur stadium watched Iceland win their seventh victory from seven games in their Euro 2017 qualification matches – without conceding a single goal.

Iceland’s final qualification game is against Scotland on Tuesday (kick-off 5pm), but the ladies’ Euro 2017 ticket to Netherlands is guaranteed.
