The Pourquoi Pas? docks in Reykjavik
The Pourquoi Pas?V will return to Iceland in September to mark 80 years since the Pourquoi Pas? IV was shipwrecked. mbl.is/Júlíus
French Navy marine research vessel Pourquoi Pas? V arrived in Reykjavik on Tuesday.
The Pourquoi Pas? is named after the ship commanded by explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot who drowned on Icelandic shores along with 36 crew members when they were shipwrecked.
The Pourquoi Pas?V first came to Iceland in 2012. This stop will be a short one but the ship will return on September 18th when a series of events take place to commemorate 80 years since the Pourquoi Pas? IV was shipwrecked.
