World famous England forward Wayne Rooney can count his lucky stars that the referee didn’t blow his whistle for this one.

Indeed most spectators and TV viewers appear to have missed this 58^th minute in Monday’s England-Iceland Euro 2016 clash where Rooney appears quite clear to land a stinging left-hook punch on Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurðsson.

Whether the referee didn’t see the off-the-ball incident or saw it and decided not the call a foul is not clear.

Iceland won the match 2-1 and progress to a quarter-final match against France on Sunday.
