Iceland impressed yesterday with a gutsy 1-1 draw against top-flight Portugal. The team’s next Euro 2016 clash is with Hungary, on Saturday.

Hungary is currently ranked 20th on the FIFA world rankings, while Iceland is at 34th (and Portugal, 8th). The two teams have met competitively on ten occasions, with Hungary clocking up seven wins and Iceland, three.

On paper, then, Iceland is the clear underdog for Saturday’s match – the country’s second Group F fixture. This is, however, the same paper that had Iceland certainly to lose against Ronaldo’s mighty Portugal, whom they had never beaten before.

Hungary beat Austria 2-0 yesterday and will be buoyant and confident going into Saturday’s game. Iceland are no less confident after their splendid display yesterday.

The game begins at 4pm Icelandic time.
