Twenty degrees Centigrade may not be a great deal in many parts of the world, but when the forecast is for that double figure, Icelanders rejoice. It looks like summer sunshine and warm temperatures will hit the country this week.

The temperatures today are between 7 - 14 degrees C but by the latter part of the week temperatures will "soar" up to twenty in most parts of Iceland.

Travellers are reminded that the sun in Iceland can get fairly strong so a sunscreen is advised, and also that the wind can remain cold, so don't get too optimistic.
