UFC fighter Conor McGregor was supposed to be in Las Vegas last week promoting a fight which should take place in July, but decided to go to Iceland instead after a feud with the UFC. “It is not resolved weather I will compete in July or not, I am still officially retired,” the fighter said last night. Just this morning though, McGregor announced that he will after all be competing in the UFC 200 in July.

When Iceland Monitor got hold of McGregor last night, he had spent the day playing the tourist. He had been horse riding and taken a ride in a formula offroad car, claiming that it was one of the craziest thing he had ever done. “I am here [in Iceland] enjoying retired life at the moment, I’m on holiday.”

The holiday and retirement do not mean however that McGregor is taking it easy. His reason for visiting Iceland is his friend, the Icelandic UFC fighter Gunnar Nelson, who he has been training with on his visit.

“I usually train twice a day, we wake up in the morning and train, then rest, eat and do technical training at night, and maybe some sparring also.”
