President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson has sent his condolences to Ecuador, following the devastating earthquakes that hit the country at the weekend – killing over 400.

“Although the individual may seem small in the face of natural disasters, we are strong when we stand together,” Grímsson writes to President of Ecuador Rafael Correa.

“The thoughts of Iceland are with the victims of the earthquakes, their relatives, friends and others who have suffered great loss.”
