Iceland “focused on the task in hand”
Iceland’s men’s handball team arrived in Poland last night ahead of their first game in the Euro 2016 European Handball Championship.
Iceland face Nordic neighbours Norway in their first group game of the tournament tomorrow.
Right back Ásgeir Örn Hallgrímsson reportedly injured his knee during training in Germany yesterday, while right wing Arnór Þór Gunnarsson and pivot Vignir Svavarsson have been suffering from minor stomach pains.
Despite this, coach Aron Kristjánsson is confident. “Training has gone well and the team is focused on the task at hand,” he says.
Coverage of tomorrow’s match against Norway begins on Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV at 5:05 pm (Icelandic time) tomorrow.
