Schools are open- but many pupils are home

Schools in Reykjavik are open today but seemingly, almost half of the pupils in the city's schools are home today. Police would like to point out that if pupils are already at school they will be fine there until the weather calms down this afternoon.
Parents should by no means go out into the weather now to fetch them if they're already at school. "If you're children left for school this morning please let them stay there, they'll be fine there and it's best for them to stay there until the weather gets better," the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police writes on its Facebook page.
