School children can safely walk home
The Reykjavik Metropolitan Police have just issued a statement saying that the weather has calmed down although its still snowing heavily. Therefore, children at school today can walk safely home by themselves.
There is no need for parents to especially go to pick them up because of the weather.
Snow ploughs are hard at work in the city and there are still disruptions to traffic, especially in the suburbs.
