Black Friday madness hits Reykjavik

First Halloween, then Thanksgiving and now Black Friday- seemingly Icelanders are happily taking up US traditions. Today, huge queues of people were spotted at Reykjavik's shops. 

One of the shops advertising Black Friday deals were the Elko electrical goods chain. "As soon as we let people in, the scene was like something out of an American movie. Everyone jumped on the goods and they disappeared. It was lika a magic trick," says Óttar Örn Sigurðsson at Elko.
