Icelandic software company Meniga has received a World Summit Award for best technological solution in e-business and commerce.

“The World Summit Award selects and promotes the world’s best e-content and innovative information and communication technology applications,” reads the award website.

Over 400 nominations from 178 United Nations (UN) countries were received, and these were whittled down to forty overall winners. Meniga was Iceland’s entry for the 2015 Awards.

“Meniga’s Personal Finance Solution (PFM) and MarketMatch Solution are helping over 25m people all over the world get complete control and overview of their finances with their own personal financial advisor and get more value for their money on things they actually want and need,” says the Icelandic company on the WSA website.

“The solutions were born out of the 2008 financial crisis in Iceland and next we brought them to the rest of the world.”

The award ceremony will take place in Shenzhen, China, next February.
