Tourist coach blaze drama

A coach carrying thirty foreign tourists on their way to Akureyri in North Iceland caught fire yesterday afternoon.

All passengers had been evacuated by the time the fire brigade arrived and even luggage was able to be saved. The vehicle, owned by coach company SBA, was however engulfed in flames and has been declared a write-off.

Fire-fighters from Akureyri Fire Brigade managed to extinguish the fire and all passengers were driven on to their destination in other vehicles.
