Brand new images of the eruption

According to Gísli Gíslason, pilot at Norðurflug, the eruption at Holuhraun was particularly impressive on Friday. There has been some snowfall in the eruption area and copious amounts of lava was spouting from the crater. " The eruption seemed to have gained power today," said Gislason but according to the National Meterological Institute the situation is similar to recent days. 

Flights over the eruption area have been difficult in the past few days due to heavy fog.
