Great Northern Lights forecast for New Year's Eve in Iceland

If you're spending New Year's Eve in Iceland, you're in for a treat.  The forecast for Northern Lights is looking absolutely fantastic. 

A strong solar wind is expected both tonight and tomorrow night, reports Stjörnufræðivefurinn, the Icelandic authority on stargazing. Charged particles stream from the small dark coronal hle seen in this image, on the right side of the light area in the middle. 

So tonight and tomorrow night make sure to stare at the sky!
