Reykjavik’s five-star Marriott EDITION to open late 2018

Iceland’s first five-star international hotel, a Marriott EDITION in Reykjavik, is set to open in late 2018.

US real estate firm Carpenter & Company bought the land, next to Reykjavik’s iconic Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, last year and struck a deal with Marriott International to run the new hotel.

“I am very excited that this milestone has been reached,” says Carpenter & Company CEO Richard Friedman.

“Preparations for the building of Iceland’s first five-star international hotel are now well under way. We shall ensure, together with our Icelandic architecture and contracting partners, that the hotel is in keeping with its unique location next to Harpa.”
