Iceland’s France mania appears to be over

Today may be France’s Bastille Day, but it seems Icelandic travellers are more interested in Spain and the UK when it comes to their travel plans.

When Iceland’s success at the Euro 2016 football finals was at its height, France was by far the most popular destination for searches on Icelandic travel search engine website Dohop.

In June, Dohop reported 94,000 unique visitors within Iceland searching for flights, hotels and rental cars in France. It now appears that, now the tournament is over, Icelanders have reverted to their normal patterns of flights searches, with Spain, the UK and Denmark leading the pack.
