Sleeping pods now available in Iceland's Westman Islands
With growing tourism to the Westman Islands, new facilities become available. The latest of these are Japanese-style sleeping pods, which only recentlly appeared in Reykjavik.
At the Hamar guesthouse in the Westman Islands, forty sleeping pods will be on offer later this month. The pods fit one person and offer a television and electrical plugs.

"Originally we had intended to install bunkbeds but the pods are much more comfortable for tourists, each one has a television and a plug for their computer or cellphone," says one of the owners, Svava Gunnarsdóttir.
A night in a pod will set you back ISK 6-7,000 (approx €34-40).
