Tourist numbers in Iceland continue to soar

New figures from the Icelandic Tourist Board show that tourist numbers for the first five months of this year are over 35% higher than for the same period just one year ago.

Of particular note is that four of every ten tourists visiting Iceland last month were from either the United Kingdom or the United States.

Tourists numbers have increased at the following rates for the first five months of the year: January (23.6%), February (42.9%), March (38.1%), April (32.5%) and May (35.2%).
