Despite double the amount of seats from 2015, flights from Iceland to the Spanish island of Tenerife are still selling out.

So far this year, roughly fifteen flights a month – with room for a total 3,000 passengers – have departed from Iceland bound for the sunny island of Tenerife.

Although this is twice the capacity available at the same time last year, tour operators have been unable to keep up with demand for winter getaways to the Spanish sun and are planning to expand even further this coming winter.

Travel agency VITA, for instance, told Turisti.is (link in Icelandic) that three Christmas services are already sold out. Other tour operators have already or are considering increasing the number of flights for the next winter season.
