The first pictures of Icelandic low-cost airline WOW air’s first wide-body Airbus A330 jet have been published on Icelandic aviation news website alltumflug.is (link in Icelandic).

The aircraft – registered TF-GAY, in a nod towards the airline’s stated support for queer rights – is the first of three A330s leased by WOW air to operate on routes to Los Angeles and San Francisco this summer.

The A330 is the largest passenger aircraft type ever to have been used in scheduled flights to and from Iceland.

As can be seen above, TF-GAY is now resplendent in the airline’s purple livery, having been painted in Guangzhou, China, last week.

The aircraft is six years old and entered service brand-new with Singapore Airlines early 2010. It was then bought by Chinese leasing company ICBC last year, and leased by WOW air for summer 2016.
