Traffic at Iceland’s main international airport is continuing to rise at a staggering rate, with 1,016 scheduled flights departing last month.

Even taking away the 36 flights departing on the extra leap-year day of 29 February, this represents a 28% increase on February 2015. This is according to data gathered by Icelandic tourism and travel news website turisti.is (link in Icelandic).

Eleven airlines operated regular flights to and from Keflavík International Airport (KEF) last month, as compared to just six in February 2013.
