Cold tap water will now be available at Keflavik International Airport following criticism last week. As we reported, passengers at the airport cannot use the touch-free taps in the airport bathrooms and have to purchase Icelandic tap water for drinking purposes.

The story created a few waves, especially among Icelanders who are used to getting their cold spring water free of charge from the tap. According to press officer for Isavia, the company which runs the airport, criticism was helpful and that they had decided to respond quickly.

In future plans for the ever-growing airport, water fountains will be available but for the moment the bathroom taps are being changed.
