British Airways is offering one-way fares to London Heathrow for just ISK 5,055, according to the British national carrier’s website.

After a seven year absence, British Airways will begin flights to Keflavík International Airport (KEF) in late October, operating a service three times a week.

BA’s basic hand-luggage-only one-way fare is advertised at ISK 5,055 (approx. €35; £25).

According to Icelandic tourism and travel website turisti.is, this new offer is much cheaper than existing competition on London routes (all airports).

The next cheapest fare is with easyJet. Their hand-luggage-only one-way service reportedly costs ISK 8,867, i.e. 75% more expensive than the BA fare.

British Airways’ cheapest hold-luggage fare is ISK 8,155, as compared to easyJet’s ISK 12,414. At over ISK 17,000 one way, Icelandair is the most expensive option to London.
