Season’s fin whale catch hits 80
Eighty fin whales have so far been hunted this summer in Iceland, according to CEO of Icelandic fisheries company Hvalur, Kristján Loftsson.
Hunting is going well, says Loftsson. By the same time last year, just seventy whales had been caught, despite the whaling season starting two weeks earlier.
According to Loftsson, weather and conditions will determine how long the season lasts, but hunting usually goes on until mid-September.
