Snow to return this week?
Northern parts of Iceland can expect snow this week, as the calendar marches on towards June. A northerly wind and falling temperatures mean that the rain affecting the whole country this week may fall as snow in the north.
A band of rain hit Iceland from the west yesterday and is forecast to affect most parts of Iceland throughout the week to Friday.
Double-figure temperatures will remain elusive, with the warmest conditions forecast for South Iceland (5-9°C, possible 10°C on Friday). Wednesday is forecast to see falling temperatures in the north, with the real possibility of rain falling as snow.
Cloudy and showery conditions will be a major feature of the weather in Iceland this week, with only occasional sunny spells.
