If you're bar-hopping tonight in Reykjavik and looking for that perfect savory bite to tone down the effects of the beer, try newcomer food truck Bao Bun outside Skúli Craft Bar. One of the owners of the truck is star TV chef Hrefna Rósa Sætran who explains that the truck was bought to meet the needs of punters at the Skúli Craft Bar who kept asking for food.

"The Fógetagarður square behind the bar has become known for its foodie market in the summer and at Christmas. The City of Reykjavik wanted to make the square into a sort of food truck square so we're inspired by that," says Sætran who opened the food truck last weekend.  The food truck offers bao buns, hence the name, a Chinese dish which is basically a steamed, bread-like bun with a variety of fillings.

"We currently offer four filings: pulled pork, beef , cod and mushroom. And we always put kimchi, pickled gherkins, srirarcha mayo, fried shallott onions and coriander into the buns. We also offer deep fried sweet potato waffles. We're just going to start with this menu and we might add lots more to it this summer."
