Best brunches: Haust is a fantastic newcomer

The understated, warm elegance of Haust restaurant inside the high rise Foss Hotel in Borgartún is the perfect venue for a long brunch with family or friends on weekends.

The sumptious buffet offers both healthy options as well as classics such as pancakes, Eggs Benedikt, Beef Carpaccio and a full classic English Breakfast.

There's a gorgeous and very healthy selection of smoothies and freshly pressed juices on offer that include Virgin Mary's, green juice and Skyr berry concoctions and a wide range of salads and vegetarian dishes.

Fish enthusiasts will revel in the selection of delicate seafood dishes and ceviches, and for hungry souls there's a selection of roast meats with accompanying seasonal roast vegetables, as well as chicken and vegetable skewers. All this is accompanied by specially baked bread and pastries from the in-house bakery.

Younger guests will be enticed by the racks of warm pancakes served with nutella, syrop or peanut butter, and there's also an impressive dessert section with fresh fruit and berries and an assortment of cakes and puddings.
