Matbar is a new restaurant which opened last night in Hverfisgata in the centre of Reykjavik. Hverfisgata has enjoyed a new lease of life in this last year.

The main owner of Matbar is entrepreneur Guðjón Haukksson. "We're aiming to open early each day and to stay open late with an emphasis on simple, fun dishes influenced by Italy and Scandinavia."  Matbar also offers aperitivo and tapas.
