Þorgeir K. Blöndal, a second year student in graphic design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts was walking around a Copenhagen street fair when he was discovered by modelling agency Unique, the largest agency in Denmark. His first assignment was to model for a men's silk collection "for Nordic gentlemen."

Blöndal plays with the Valur basketball team in Reykjavik and is tall and slim. He tells mbl.is that he's been fashion conscious from an early age.

Blöndal had just started an exchange student programme at the Royal Academy of the Arts in Copenhagen when he was discovered. "I was invited to do the catwalk at the Copenhagen fashion week last August but I declined as I was in Iceland at the time. "
