Wondering where to shop like an Icelandic It-girl on your Reykjavik break? Here are a few handy guidelines.
A gorgeous boutique at the top of Laugavegur shopping street featuring plenty of cool, young Icelandic designers such as Eygló, Hildur Yeoman, Helicopter, Milla Snorrason and Kyrja. This is your one stop shop for a showpiece to bring back from Iceland.
For that ultimate rock chick vibe, check out the shop of artist Jón Sæmundur Auðarson. His DEAD T-shirts are a rock-star staple and are worn by the likes of the Brian Jonestown Massacre and feature designs ranging from psychedelic skulls to Jesus.
Reykjavik's only fleamarket and it's pretty good one. It's indoors (always a bonus when in Iceland) and it's pretty huge. Check out the ever varying stalls for all kinds of second hand clothes, records, jewellery, books, army surplus, Icelandic candy and dried fish (no kidding).
A long-standing staple for Reykjavik fashionistas. A quirky, colourful boutique offering equally quirky and colourful clothing by its own label, the Icelandic Kron by KronKron as well as Junya Watanabe, Sonia Rykiel, Peter Jensen and more.
The flagship shop of Icelandic fashion wunderkind Guðmundur Jörundsson offering elegant classic tailoring with a rock star edge for both men and women. Also stocks wonderful accessories and the hip Lonely lingerie.
A sumptious shop for fancy cosmetics and perfumes from international labels such as Aesop and ByTerry but we're particularly recommending this as the place to purchase the spellbinding Icelandic fragrances by Andrea Maack.
Reykjavik has pretty cool vintage clothes and at the Spúútnik shop in central Laugavegur you will find a selection of seriously funky stuff mainly from the 80's and 90's. Also has great jewellery and shoes/ boots.

Beautiful Icelandic pieces such as silk dresses by Another Creation, AsiMar, REY, Skaparinn and Sævar Markús as well as luxury vintage and second hand designer clothes.
