Join Sigur Rós on their ‘Slow TV’ musical tour of Iceland
Icelandic post-rock back Sigur Rós are on a 24-hour drive through Iceland, live-streaming their journey to the accompaniment of music created from their latest track.
Dubbed ‘Route One’ after Iceland’s famous ring-road, the tour is backed by a continuous soundtrack generated by music software from the band’s latest track ‘Óveður’.
The tour left at 9pm yesterday evening and will last 24 hours.
“In a day and age of instant gratification and everything moving so fast, we wanted to do the exact opposite,” the band’s Jónsi Birgisson told music news website Pitchfork.
