Izvor Izzy Zivkovic, otherwise known as Kanye West's agent, contacted Icelandic band 1860 this autumn. This was revealed by singer of the band Hlynur Hallgrímsson in a Facebook post yesterday.

Hallgrímsson writes that when the email from Zivkovic first arrived he obviously thought it was a hoax. The introductory email went like this: "Hi, I'm Izzy. I work with Kanye West. Can I get hold of you on the telephone?"

After some investigation Hallgrímsson discovered that the email was indeed the one used by Kanye West's agent. He proceeded to send him his telephone number to see what would happen.

Zivkovic called to tell Hallgrímsson of his admiration for the band. He'd heard the song For You Forever at a hotel somewhere and used song search on his phone to find out the artists behind it.

Asked by mbl.is on why he thinks Kanye West's agent appreciated the music of 1860 he replies that he found out that Izzy and Marcus Mumford, the singer of Mumford and sons were good friends and that 1860's record Sagan was slightly similar to the music of Mumford and Sons. "I guess that's what got to him."

Zivkovic then mentioned some sort of collaboration but seeing as both Hallgrímsson and guitarist Óttar Birgisson are expectant fathers, all plans of superstardom will have to be put on hold, for a while at least.

"Maybe he just had this mad idea at the time," laughs Hallgrímsson.
