The twelve songs taking part in Söngvakeppni 2016, the Icelandic pre-selection competition for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, will be announced tonight.

Information on the songs and composers will be given on the Vikan með Gísla Marteini programme this evening at 7:40 pm (Icelandic time) on Iceland’s RÚV television channel. A live stream will be available on www.ruv.is (regional restrictions may apply).

The twelve songs will compete in two semi-finals on 6 and 13 February, with the pick of the crop battling it out in the final to be held on 20 February. The overall winner will be Iceland’s entry to the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in May in Stockholm, Sweden.
