An Icelandic novel has been voted best foreign novel published in France this year by French literature magazine Lire (link in French).

Fiskar hafa enga fætur (literally meaning ‘fish have no feet’) by Jón Kalman Stefánsson won the prestigious literature award at a glittering ceremony at the Grand Palais exhibition hall in the French capital Paris yesterday.

Stefánsson’s novel won the Lire award in the category of best foreign novel published in France in 2015. It is called D’ailleurs, les poissons n’ont pas de pieds in French, in a translation by Eric Boury.
