An impressive beer centre owned by the Viking brewery has opened in Grandi, the harbour are of Reykjavik. The beer centre seats 200 people and features five different bars.

According to the owners, the venue will only be open for groups of fifteen to two hundred people and offers  beer tasting, a pub quiz or an informative lecture on Icelandic beer-making. Foreign visitors can also select a special tour in English with an introduction to Icelandic beer.

Each of the five bars inside the large industrial building, a former fishing factory, has a different theme and the bar staff wear Viking clothing.

The Grandi area is experiencing a surge in new shops and venues including various gourmet shops, and a new nightclub called Astro  bar opening there soon.
