Will you be the 300,000th visitor?

The ‘Reykjavík 871 ± 2’ Settlement Exhibition, one of Reykjavik’s most popular tourist destinations, is set to welcome its 300,000th visitor today.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Viking-age Reykjavik, the focal point being a tenth-century preserved longhouse in its original location. Multimedia and computer technology brings the environment of a Reykjavik farm at the time of the first settlers to life.

The exhibition opened in May 2006 and is set to welcome its 300,000th visitor today. The lucky visitor will be greeted ceremoniously and will receive a certificate, flowers and gifts, including a Reykjavik City Card, giving them access to Reykjavik’s main museums and swimming pools, the Family Park and Zoo and public transport.

The ‘Reykjavík 871 ± 2’ Settlement Exhibition is listed by TripAdvisor as one of Iceland’s Top 10 museums.

UPDATE:
