Swamp soccer anyone?

The Icelandic sport mýrarbolti (translated variously as ‘mud football’ or ‘swamp soccer’) has been chosen as the world’s second strangest variant of the beautiful game by football news website Copa90.

As the Copa90 video below states, the clue is in the name – it’s a game of football in the mud. An annual tournament, with sport and entertainment, is held in Ísafjörður in Iceland’s West Fjords region, traditionally on the first weekend of August.
