SAR teams in Iceland are searching the Sólheimasandur area for an American man who arrived in Iceland on October 12th and had booked a flight onwards the next day. He has however completely disappeared.

The Reykjavik Metropolitan Police received an announcent about the man's disappearance last night.  His car was found this morning just near the plane wreck at Sólheimasandur. A national coastguard helicopter and SAR teams are now taking part in the search.

Vísir reported this morning that the man's name is Jaspinderjit Singh. A friend of his brother is looking for him through Twitter. Apparently Singh had a flight booked to Paris on October 12th but his family have heard nothing from him since.

Singh is 173 centimetres tall and of Indian origin. He wears black glasses and was last seen wearing a black Puma jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, grey trousers and black and white Nike shoes. He was carrying a North Face backpack.
