Tomorrow sees the second edition of the now world-famous Color Run in Iceland. Runners will be taking on a five-kilometre course around Reykjavik.

The race is untimed and participants – initially wearing white – will be splashed in coloured powder upon completion of each kilometre. The course winds around Reykjavik along the same route as last year.

The Color Run was founded in March 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness. It takes place in over thirty countries worldwide including, for the first time this year, Iceland.

There are some 12,000 places runners taking part in tomorrow’s race, which has now sold out. The Reykjavik weather forecast is good for running – light cloud, and a temperature of around 15°C.

Last year, the event raised some ISK 5 million (approx. €36,000), which was donated by Color Run organisers, Alvogen, to Icelandic charities engaged in child rights and welfare.
